This group of paintings was inspired by the Nesting Season of 2021. Seeing all the posts on Facebook by our local group #TampBayBirdStewards I was captivated and inspired by this community in their efforts to protect the beach nesters and educate the public on their existence. It's amazing the challenges these little beauties face! People walking and running through nesting colonies, which cause the adults to fly away in fear, leaving the eggs and chicks vulnerable to predators such as crows and birds of prey. The humans also trample eggs and tiny chicks not being aware of what they are doing.
