They nest near or over water in trees sometimes as high as 40 feet tall or down in mangroves. They nest in colonies with other herons. Nest building can take up to 10 days.
I paint these studies over and over again, each time I paint it, it will come out different. Same as in nature, each bird builds its nest different adapting to the materials they find and the location available.
