Roseate Spoonbill Nest Study - Original Oil Painting On Gold Leaf

Barbara Fallenbaum

They nest in colonies with egrets, ibises and herons.  In the shady side of a mangrove, sea myrtle or other shrubs near the water.  They can nest as high up as 16”.

I paint these studies over and over again, each time I paint it, it will come out different.  Same as in nature, each bird builds its nest different adapting to the materials they find and the location available.

  • Painted on a wood panel that has been Gold Leafed.
  • Wood panel is 12" x 12" by 0.75"
  • Comes ready to hang
  • No two are alike
