Roseate Spoonbill Mating Ritual Diptych - Original Oil Painting

Barbara Fallenbaum

Original Oil Painting of a pair of Roseate Spoonbills during part of their mating ritual.  In Courtship, male and female first interact aggressively with  ritual dancing, and bill clapping.  Later they perch close together, present sticks to each other, cross and clasp bills.  They are social birds congregating and nesting in colonies along with other wading birds.  They rely on each other for security and hunting.  This pair was seen early one morning at Fort DeSoto Park.

  • The painting consist of two canvases measures 30" x 40" each , with frame 37.5" x 48" x 2.5" deep each.
  • The frame is solid wood and custom for this painting.  We finish each one with an undercoated metallic glaze and a nice cream crackle top coat, giving an elegant coastal feel.  Each frame is a unique piece of art by itself!
  • The logo watermark that you may see on your screen will not be on the print you receive.
