They sometimes nests in isolated pairs, usually in colonies, often mixed with other wading birds. In mixed colonies, Great Egrets tend to nest high. Usually in trees 10' to 40' above ground, sometimes up to 90' high in tall cypress. Usually laying between 3 to 4 eggs.
I paint these studies over and over again, each time I paint it, it will come out different. Same as in nature, each bird builds its nest different adapting to the materials they find and the location available.
